Biomedical polymers-fluoropolymer performance advantages

High temperature resistance

Fluorine-containing polymers are flame retardant and have excellent heat resistance, and are generally resistant to temperatures exceeding 200°C.

Acid, alkali and solvent resistance

Fluorine-containing polymer materials have excellent acid, alkali and solvent resistance, especially PTFE, PFA, FEP, etc., and are not corroded by acids or alkali.

Electrical properties

The electrical properties of fluorine-containing polymer materials have their own characteristics. The dielectric properties of fully fluorinated polymer materials, especially the high-frequency dielectric properties, are far superior to other materials. The molecular polarity is very low, changes little over a wide temperature and frequency range, the relative dielectric constant is stable, the dielectric loss is very low, and the electrical insulation properties are excellent.

Mechanical behavior

Fluorine-containing polymers have very good mechanical properties in high and low temperature environments. PTFE and PCTFE have extremely low embrittlement temperatures and excellent low-temperature properties; PTFE has a low friction coefficient and special self-lubricity.

Non-sticky

Fluorine-containing polymers have low surface energy, especially PTFE, which is currently the lowest surface energy solid material and has special non-stick properties.

Weather resistance

All types of fluorine-containing polymer materials have excellent weather resistance. Even if they are exposed to harsh temperatures for a long time, their various properties are not easy to change.
